ITALY: NEW ACCORDO ECONOMICO COLLETTIVO SIGNED

On 16 February 2009 a new Accordo Economico Collettivo (AEC) was signed in Rome between Manufacturers Associations and Agents Associations representing approx 120.000 commercial agents throughout Italy.

The new AEC contains several material advantages for Italian commercial agents who are a member of IUCAB’s Italian Member Association FNAARC and USARCI. As such the new AEC can be considered a positive stimulus for Italian commercial agents not yet member of the Italian Agents Associations to now apply for such membership.

The new AEC will become effective as from 1 March 2009 and is valid for Italian commercial agents only unless their applicability is also explicitly agreed upon in contracts between Italian manufacturers and commercial agents in foreign countries.

The contents of the new AEC will be presented to the Executive Committee of IUCAB on the occasion of its upcoming meeting in Amsterdam on 23 March 2009.
