MAA TRADE BODIES SEMINAR

On 12th June 2007 the MAA held a Trade Bodies seminar “Finding and Using Commercial Agents in the UK & Ireland” at ReedSmith’s offices at London Bridge. This was first of its kind that the MAA has held and the response was astonishing. 46 Delegates booked in spanning the continents from 24 countries from China via Europe to North and South America, from Norway down to South Africa.
Edward Miller of ReedSmith, the MAA legal advisors, started the seminar with a presentation on Agency Law and Paul Wakeling, MAA President, followed with the main presentation. He was assisted by Donald Pike, MAA Vice President for External Relations and Sam Lake, MAA Membership Secretary.
Paul first described the MAA and its Membership and went on to look at various routes to market. He examined the ways Principals should look at their markets and products and went on to discuss how to find Agents in the UK & Ireland, the need for a contract and described the 2 services the MAA offers – the online MAA Net Search® and magazine advertising.
Paul Wakeling’s presentation has been entered on the IUCAB list of speakers and speeches available for international audiences in order to bring Agency opportunities back for MAA Members.
