LEGAL WORKING GROUP MEETS IN TURIN, ITALY

On 23 March 2007 the members of the IUCAB legal workinggroup will meet in Turin at the offices of mr. Carlo Tabellini, legal advisor of USARCI.

The main task to be dealt with during this meeting will be the finalizing of a document which contains a description of the indemnity and compensation model under article 17 of the EC-Directive 1986 and the application of either model in various European countries.

Next to the European lawyers and legal advisors, the meeting will also be attended by mr. F. Ramirez of the lawfirm Ramirez & Associates based in Dallas (US). Mr. Ramirez acts as the legal advisor of the IUCAB Member Association MANA in the field of commercial agency and distribution matters. Mr. Ramirez has consented to present the legal working group with a general picture of the legal situation in the US regarding commercial agents and to brief the European lawyers on interesting US-legislation in that field.

The members of the legal working group will also discuss the implications of the Green Paper issued by the European Commission regarding the modernising of labour law and decide on the line of conduct to be followed towards the European Commission regarding this initiative.
